If you are coming for the first time

Walking into an unfamiliar place is the hardest part. Here is what we would like you to know beforehand.

01

Wear whatever you like

This church is not tied to a particular style. Everyday clothes are fine. Nothing needs to be prepared.

02

You don't need to know anything about Christianity

Everyone is welcome. You don't need to own a Bible — the Bible passages and the song lyrics are all shown on the screen during the service.

03

There are English and Korean speakers

This church has welcomed people from many countries over the years. Members can talk with you in English or Korean, so limited Japanese is no problem.

04

No booking is needed

Just come at ten on a Sunday. A message beforehand is appreciated, but not required. Coming on your own is completely fine.

05

Staying for lunch is up to you

The lunch after the service is optional. Decide on the day, however you feel.

06

It costs nothing

There is no fee. An offering is taken during the service; giving is entirely voluntary.

07

You can ask questions before you come

We take questions by Instagram message (DM), in Japanese, English or Korean.

About the church

Cornerstone Chapel began as a church plant in 2002. The building was dedicated the following year, in 2003, and we have been here since.

We stand firmly on the Bible while not being tied to any particular style, and over the years we have welcomed people from many countries. After the service each Sunday, everyone brings a packed lunch and we share the meal together. It is a homely church.
